The Chamba people are an ethnic group primarily located in the Adamawa State of Nigeria and parts of Cameroon. Chamba wooden figures were used primarily as protective guardian statues (tauwa) and ancestor figures (kona) to connect the living with the spirit world. (Early 20th century)
