Description:

Bidri is the decorative craft of silver inlay on a rich, matt black metal made from a copper and zinc alloy. The craft is unique to the region of Bidar, in the southern Deccan horn of India. The craft is believed to have travelled from Persia in the 15th century, finding patronage with the rulers of Deccan India.  This set of side tables (sold individually) is designed with an elegant round top carrying silver inlay inspired by motifs found in textiles from African cultures and ancient cave paintings. The slender trio of table legs gives an elegant but sturdy finish to the form.
