 With the Chandigarh Twist chair, our intention is not to create a replica of Pierre Jeanneret's iconic piece, but explore a new design iteration of this historic piece of furniture. Keeping the instantly familiar form of the chair in place, our version comes with a swivelling back, giving it a gentle, ergonomic lift that sets it apart from several recent interpretations of Jeanerrete’s design. In keeping with our love for material grains and imperfect beauty, the teak wood carries a light finish that compliments the earthy texture of the chevron-pattern jute weave. The Chandigarh Twist chair is made entirely by hand by a team of woodwork artisans, led by our long-term collaborator Champalal Suthar.
