BEAN BOWL
Origin: BIDAR, INDIA
Materials: Bidriware
Description:

The simple, utilitarian form of the Bean bowl draws inspiration from the shape of wooden bowls ubiquitous across cultures in Africa. With this piece, the simple and timeless wooden bowl is reimagined through bidri, a centuries-old craft from the southern Deccan horn of India. The bidri technique used here leaves out the signature silver inlay embellishment, letting the rich, earthy black patina shine through.
