The simple, utilitarian form of the Bean bowl table draws inspiration from the shape of wooden bowls ubiquitous across cultures in Africa. With this piece, the simple and timeless wooden bowl is scaled up to a table and reimagined through bidri, a centuries-old craft from the southern Deccan horn of India. The bidri technique used here leaves out the signature silver inlay embellishment, letting the inimitable rich, earthy black patina to stand on its own. The bean bowl table is designed in the EVOKE studio in Bangalore and handcrafted by master artisans in Bidar.  The Bean bowl table can be purchased with its matching Bean bowl to make a pair.
