Inspired by Japanese zabuton cushions, this woven floor cushions are made using Madur, a strong but supple sedge grass indigenous to West Bengal. The region’s tradition of weaving light, supple grass mats is translated to the design of the floor cushion. Each piece is entirely hand woven by women artisans, using only natural materials that leave the lightest imprint. The grass floor cushion is a wonderful example of cross pollinating crafts to create timeless, sustainable design.
