CONSTELLATION VASE (SILVER LINING COLLECTION)
Origin: BIDAR, INDIA
Materials: Bidriware (hand-cast alloy of copper and zinc, finished with a coating of black soil); Sterling silver inlay.
Description:

The Constellation vase is inspired by images of the milky way in an inky midnight sky. The bidriware craft technique used here lends itself beautifully to this idea, with the silver inlay dazzling against the rich black of the zinc alloy base. With its elegant fluted form and intricate inlay work, the Constellation vase is made to dazzle. It is a fresh and unique take on a centuries-old decorative craft that continues to be practised in a single craft centre,  the town of Bidar in southern India.
