WODAABE POT COVER

Materials: Woven grass, woven plastic thread, and reused plastic containers and bottle caps.
Description:

Colourful pot covers like this are handwoven by the Wodaabe, a subgroup of the Fulani people from West Africa and used to cover pots used to keep food or beer in. They are woven from grasses, cotton thread, and plastic thread. Each pot cover is unique and the centre is usually a geometric circle woven in grass or old plastic bottle caps that are also creatively repurposed.
